File an Appeal
Before formally filing an appeal before the SDRCC, we suggest that you make sure to have met all the required conditions leading to this process. To facilitate this exercise, you can consult the Access to SDRCC Resolution Services in a pdf or interactive version.
Once these steps completed, an appeal process may be initiated by sending us a completed and signed request form, along with any document showing that the conditions were met, as may be required.
If you have not fulfilled the condition of filing an internal appeal with your sport organization first, you can consult the webpage containing links to most of national sport organizations’ internal appeal policies, in order to find the applicable policy in your case.
If you need advice to determine your chances of success in an arbitration or if you need help in preparing your documents to file an appeal, you can consult the list of legal representatives, some of whom are volunteers, in the Legal Representatives section. Athletes may also contact the Sport Solution service, AthletesCAN’s legal clinic.
Other resources are available to help you prepare your request:
- The Canadian Sport Dispute Resolution Code, which lays down SDRCC procedural rules;
- The list of SDRCC’s mediators and arbitrators.
If you have questions, you may contact the case manager at the following address: [email protected].
